Predator jetting with WB slip-on???
#11
Just an update, I recieved a e-mail from Dynojet this morning. They are working on the Kit for the Predator right now and a kit will be available soon after the first of the year. The DS-650 and Predator share the same carb. There has been a kit available for the DS for quite awhile, putting a kit togeather for the Pred. should be know big deal, their just dialing in the jetting now I'm sure, take care all, Rich A
PS thumper400ex, I'm looking forward to hearing your report on those Walker Evens shocks, thanks again.

I installed a 155 main today. Mine was popping and banging out yesterday at high rpm after I put the slip-on on the bike.
I'll ride tommorow and see if it makes any difference.....................

Truckracer, that popping is likely the rev limiter. I'm noticing it more with the new silencer also. Somebody please make a rev box for this bike that gives a few more rpms! I think it's set around 9500 rpm right now.

My local dealer didn't have a clue. If I can walk in there and tell him it uses the same jets as this bike or that bike, he'd be able to find something. Thanks

This is a reply I got from Superbikes today about jetting with the WB slipon, check the post about big bore kits for more info.
"
DO NOT RUN THE OPEN END CAP, the exhaust system does not
provide enough back pressure. use the back end plate & remove 2 of the
discs. use a 160 main, needle in the 3rd clip. remove the snorkel from the
airbox-but only if your are not going in water. thanks gary"

Hi Truckracer,
I think I saw on one of your posts that the Main Jet for the predator is the SMALL round type ...if it wasn't your post...sorry...but I want be sure before I order several at $5.00 + a pop...since they also have a large round style...
I live in So CAL at sea level in the hot, dry desert near Palm Springs (about 50 minutes from Glamis). The air filter is all stock now, but I'm gonna run the clamp-on 1770 K&N filter like Heapster got, and re-jet as necessary...I just can't see the need for all that plumbing that is obviously restrictive. I have the Pro Pol (WB) slip on with the USFS plate and six or so disks installed...whatever it came with, anyway...
The quad runs very good now, however, I do have a slight popping at the very top end under a heavy loading, like a hilll climb under hard throttle. Any good jetting experience and info you have will be appreciated...I believe that K&N will have some jetting kits out soon, I'm going to call them tomorrow as well...
Thanks,
JJ Gaw
