What is the best thing to use to clean the black fenders and floorboards on a SP-500? I hunt in a pretty muddy area and also would like to know what you all think is best for keeping teh mud from sticking so badly?

Thanks and Merry Christmas

I wipe my trailblazers down with WD-40 after its washed. It cleans the
plastic and seems like its easier to clean after the plastic is treated
with the WD-40.

your right it does work good but i have always heard that in the long run it ruins your plastic it will eat away your plastic and cause it to crack and fade quicker and easier
this is just what i have heard from alot of people anyone else heard this??

i just use this stuff called formula 2001 its like armorall but a gel and if you let it sit on the plastic for a little while it works great it seems to claen alot better too

The dealer told me to use Goof-Off to clean and use Armour all or Black Magic on all the black plastic, under the fenders,on tires, and foot boards to protect and help keep mud off. When i go mudbogging with my mud truck i use black magic on the tires and the mud comes right off after the wash. I have white plastics and have literally used everything under the sun to clean it and the Goof-Off worked the best. And it is safe on plastics.

anyone else heard this??
Yes, by many people, that's why i stick to the underneet side with the WD.

I've used pledge, armourall, 2001, simoniz (sp)

i stuck with armourall, the pledge looked great, but after a wash job it looked like crap!!! it didn't seem to condition the plastic at all, where as armourall still runs off, it still seems to hold it's shine better after a wash job. I had a black 3 wheeler once, and i know how hard black is to keep clean.

I have found Turtle Wax Formula 2001 to shine very good too. Theirs a product that's very hard to find called Back-to-Black made by Mothers it's for plastic trim on cars so it won't hurt your plastic, it makes it shine and look new.

simple green seems to get the hoses and rubber parts clean without any scrubbing. armourall makes a wheel and tire cleaner called quicksilver that cleans mud stains off of engines (even air cooled).

what can i use to get the caked on mud at the header pipe on the exhaust clean?

On my sons white Breeze I use Crisco shortening to get oil stains off.Belive it or not it works.I got that from one of these forums a year or so ago.To keep the mud off I use WD40 and mud hoses off ok.The best way I have found to get mune clean though is not to get in to deep or gooey mud
