I do not own one of these bikes myself and have not seen them race, but at our Christmas get together, Doug (who owns a DS650 slightly modified) said that one of the guys in their group bought a Predator. He says they have raced and it outruns every Raptor and DS650 in their group. He also says it handles awesome. I think he was drooling slightly as he talked about it.

Anyway, I just thought I would pass along what he said about it.

I think if you want to talk about fast sport bikes, you are going to have to include the Kawasaki 700 soon. Frm my understanding that V-twin has tons of power that a few mods and a new CDI will unlock. There won't be any missed gears or rider error to slow it down. It may not compete in the MX circuit, but in this straight line drag stuff you guys are talking about, I think it will be very competitive. I have heard that this 700 V Twin will produce 75HP reliably.... I guess we will see.

Geez, Is the predator supposed to be a drag racer or the best handling sport quad ever built. How about hearing less of rolling starts and all the rest of the speed related talk and more about how it handles!

 

Handlig is more attributed to rider ability, whereas racing/engine performance is just a push of the thumb/twist of the throttle away. Basicly you take any Pro rider and put him on a Blaster, I don't care what you have under your A$$, 99 times out of 100 the pro will just out ride you. So, I guess the people that aren't making a living racing quads and aren' naturally talented, the only way we can make up the difference easily is thrugh HP. Just my opinion tho...

 

Just a little note for 14mins....who thinks "he doubts Polaris owners will go that far"....presently some of us are running machines with more than 100lbs removed and more than triple the stock hp. Like it was said before, pretty arrogant, and also uninformed. Hey Bubba,Truckracer,Sporty, and Pudjumper, time for a summer "informational" tour.
