Default K&N Part # for Predator 500

I removed the stock Predator air filter and brought the thing down to the nearest auto parts store. As I browsed throught the K&N Filter catalog, I happened to match a K&N to the stock filter using their (K&N) dimensions. The part number for anybody interested is 33-2003. It goes on a older Audi. I think it was to a 78-82 Audi 6000 or something. The dimensions matched up perfectly, I just didn't take the time to write down the exact car it is too. To those that have the bike, I've been looking at the airbox/air inlet. It is VERY RESTICTIVE. You have an approx. 2 liter airbox being fed by a 1" diameter intake. Maybee adding some circular filtered vents/and or increasing the airbox intake tube should help. I'll let you know the results.

Yeah, there are a few companies that make them. I couldn't remember them off the top of my head.

The K&N is also available straight from the dealer. If you bought your Predator there, they'll probably (or should) work some kinda discounts. Never hurts to shop the competion though By the way, the part number is 2874209 and list price is $39.99.

No, the stock filter is a paper element that once gets dirty is a piece of garbage and goes right in the garbage. A brand new paper *might* have better flow characteristics that a clean K&N(I raced a GSXR600 and it consistetnly made more HP on the dyno with the Suzuki air filter than any other aftermaket airfilter). I'm not saying that the actual stock Predator airfilter will flow as good/better/worse than a K&N,but what I am saying is who can afford to go out and buy a new OEM filter every other ride? The K&N is washable and re-usable.

Badazzpred Where did you get the white brothers head pipe, did you order it from them directly. And what jets did you find out to work out the best. Also how much was the head head pipe, the jet kit and the air vents. Thanks

hey bulldog the head pipe will be here soon its in the works with polaris and wb not sure on price yet
the jet kit i have 2 options either to call white bros or k&n both make a jet kit we have a mikuni 42-mm bsr carb on our predators the bombardier ds650 not the baja also runs the same carb i would opt for the wb kit seein as how i will have a wb full on pipe better match im thinkin i was told by an inside source that if you run a wb pipe even just the slip on to up your main jets from 150 to 160 i would roughly guess the jet kits to be around $50 the air vents are wb part no# 46-509 4 pk $5.50 im looking to see if k&n will make or have the same type of air vents i would like to stick to the same air vents as the filter k&n hope that helps ya.................................

wilsonoo i would not know right now plus i dont think i would ever switch to a twist throttle for the simple fact that a thumb throttle is a lot more controllable i was also told that polaris has the best thumb throttle in the busn. for a stock peice
