If your racing, and experiencing arm pump real bad, get two tennis *****, and squeeze them in the palm of your hand. Or you can go buy those exercise grips they sell, I don't know what they call them though. After a month or so, you will feel the diffrence.

You could try jogging or running. That keeps your whole body in shape. Then some pushups, stretching.

Any type of upper body strength training would be good, such as free weights. The exercise grips work well too, I liked using them while driving to work. For something a little more fun, try bicycling to increase your lower body strength as well as your endurance.

I have a treadmill and jog between 10 and 15 miles per week. I also have a home gym and try to hit every body part once a week. I used to have high blood pressure but by jogging it helped reduce it back to normal. The heart is the most important muscle to exercise. It will definitely benifit you when it comes to riding and racing season.

buddah,

What brand treadmill are you using? Any suggestions on what to purchase.

I have a Pro Form with the auto incline. It's a good treadmill but not the best by any means, but also not the cheapest. It fits my needs just fine and will reach speeds to 10mph. Shop around, you should find some good deals and be able to compare the different features between them all.
