My son and I are going to take our quads (2000 400 4x4 and 500 4x4 Scramblers) to do the loop on piute trail in utah and we'll get up to 10'000 feet. How lean of jets has anybod tried, We'll start at approx. 5500 feet. I've done it before on a 92 LT250r and my wife had a 93 LT230e and it was great. The factory jets in the 400 are rich at 40 degrees and are the summer jets (230) and at 6000 to 9000 ft. it calls for (195). Has anybody tried running a 190 mainjet at that altitude without burning a piston? has anybody lowered the needle at that altitude. Because it would be hard to do the jetting on the trail I would lke to have it done before the trip, both will be clutched for 6000 to 10000 ft. Any body taken their Scramblers on that trail? in Utah. I've found 2 old goldmines in mountains out there last time and the trail to circleville was closed due to snow (june 15) this time we'll go later in july. Thanks for any info- ride red (Scrambler Red)
