Predator in for repairs

Default Predator in for repairs

I talked with the service guy today on whats going on with my predator, and they said they have ordered ball joints for the left side and they should be in by the 10th of this this mth. I asked about the upper A arm and he wasn't sure that the mach. had look at that, and that he would leave a note to check it tomarrow, I was thinking, that the A arms were reason I brought in the bike in the first place. I sure would like to be riding, the weather has been fairly good here.

Onebadpred, I think you're jumping up on the fence and crowing a little loudly for what happened to one machine. I still would like to know who's motor siezed? The assembly line miss of one person doesn't constitute a problem with the machine....And I still want to know who's motor siezed? Considering what we put these things through, it's always a great idea to check things over. One of the first things I do, is try to identify potential problem areas, and see if I can brainstorm a fix/preventative. For instance, if you look at your case where the clutch cable connects, there is a single wire which plugs into a dual wire splice. This wire was laying a little too close to the clutch arm for my comfort. Remedy, unplug the splice and route it to the outside of the clutch actuation lever, and added an additional zip-tie or two to secure it further. No big deal, not a problem.

Don't get me wrong, if pistons start flying out the head, or transmissions start grenading, I'll be the first one posting info, and looking for the fix. In a perfect world, all hoseclamps and bolts would be tightened to spec, but there are humans assembling these machines, as well as humans pushing them to the limits. Check the ride over on a regular basis, and post your good and bad experiences. Did I say I wanted to know who siezed a motor?

Ok i was just reading a article about polaris putting togther a gncc race team. I hope their paying attention here. And I hope theres no water crossings. Smile. I know of another Polaris dealer that sells qite a few diff quads yamaha suziki and kaws and hes stearing all his customers away from the predator. Dont get me wrong here guys Im a diehard polaris fan trust me i amd but whats up with that. And is polaris gonna make things right like cannondale did with their customers. I know of no other man. taking care of there bikes like cannondale does. Thats good business.
so where did you hear or see this information motor seized up, a-arms breaking lets see or read the the facts wheres your proof of these kinds of failures.....................(S)

Roostking, are you saying the Banshee has never had problems?

Here's a quote off of another site:
"Ever since it's release back in 1987 the Yamaha Banshee has been noted for its overheating problems when the quad is pushed to its limits. The easiest way to cure this problem is with one of the many aftermarket heads that have additional cooling capacity."

This along with the other problems I have heard, read, and seen I would never make a comment like that if I were a Shee owner.

I think I have another prob for the list?

During shipping of my TLD Predator, due to crappy crate it was thrown into the hand grips were worn on the ends? Should I quite riding it until Polaris address's this issue?


No, it's no big deal unless your a new turkey a$$ with few posts and not much of anything good to say about your new quad.

Hey, Dragomni, WTF does a Banshee have to do with this conversation???!!! Take you're smack-talking someplace else please. I see you're new here and possibly don't realize that nobody gives a flying F about your opinion of the Banshee when they're trying to talk abou the Predator. Besides, any moron that would quote an INACCURATE statement from another site and try to pass it off as fact is not worth listening to anyway.

My advice to you would be to stick to the discussion at hand, don't ATTEMPT to put somebody's machine down becasue you didn't like what they had to say about the Predator and finally try to have at least a small CLUE what you're talking about next time you post. Thank you for your time.

I guess I didn't realize that the number of posts on this forum show a persons intelligence. Anyone who isn't on this forum mustn't know anything! I was not trying to put his machine down, I was trying to explain that people make comments like that about various things but forget reality.

I think the whole thread was just someone blowing some smoke. Polaris stepped up to the plate, and some just didn't think they would. News flash, pop on into your local Polaris dealer, if you're really lucky, you might get to see a Predator on the showfloor. Better hurry, they're selling fast! It's real, it works, Toto has left Kansas, what a great time for quads.

Welcome to the forum! Just ignore the negative comments, for some reason we have had a lot of Yamaha owners chiming in on almost all Predator post saying something negative.

WHO'S MOTOR SEIZED UP???

I think it is great that we al have so many quads to chose from now. I have seen plenty of banshees have problems,but for the most part they are bad a$$ when they scream out of the hole.Ringa ding ding. I am sure the polaris to will have problems.People aroud here sure seem sensitive to any remarks about a predator. As a machine gets more more complicated it is almost impossible for an engineer to forsee all problems. Later
