Onebadpredator,

Hey, what's this guy saying about the Predator? I live 2 minutes from Andrew Cycle's Cleveland locatation (Maple Hts.), and when I'm in the area, I stop in and check their stuff out. Anyways, I just wanna go to the Salem location and start talking about the Predator and tell the guy to shut the F up! LOL Just playin. I'm not an sensitive b**tard, I just REALLY REALLY HATE IT when people talk out of their a**. (a.k.a. bad temper)

I knew it was a matter of time until this thread went bad. One thing is true gentlemen....all quads have troubles, and first year models are gonna have more. Rider A may have no problems out of his Predator, while rider B may have a ton of trouble.....this is the same for any atv. Most guys are posting because they need help or opinions...a lot of other people are having no problems, so they don't post their Predator is running fine. Realistically, one can almost guarantee there have been Predators sieze up too this point. Does it mean that all Predator riders are on a time bomb.....of course not. One can argue back and forth about any quad....because they all fail from time oo time.

Well Gary that may be true. But .... If a Predator motor has siezed up, I for one would like to know the cause so I can avoid it no?
Also, Unless the facts be known...Its just useless banter. Thats how rumor's get started... Someone reads it here and tells his friend and so on.
Its unfair to the hard work and effort of Polaris' engineers and forward thinking exec's
To bash the bike without cause. I want to hear the bad with the good but only if it is substantiated.

Offryder if'n I was you and lived that close I'd stop by and have a "friendly" chat with that fellow and uncover why he feels the way he does. Maybe we can all learn something.

Well I have had my Predator for about 6 weeks now and totally rode the s*** out of it.
I didn't break mine in to easily to say the least and didn't even change the oil till after 3 hours
of riding and mine didn't appear to have anymore metal shavings than anyone noticed on other posts.
The only problem that I have had is that after racing in the sand for about 2 hours I noticed that the axle
bearings had a little play. Checked the axle not nut and it was not tightened all the way so I tightened it up
and continued to ride it hard - no problems since, maybe came from factory like that. But on my Raptor this was
an ongoing problem with the axle nut backing off on mine and 3 other friends.
SO lets see I didn't follow break-in procedures ( due to lack of oil filters) and I have ran mine about
as hard as anyone could want to run one ( RIDE HARD - if it can't hang it needs to go).
I guess I must be living right or am just ultra lucky cause my motor didn't seize YET - but if it does
that is what my warranty is for. I will ride the S*** out of it especially while it is under warranty.

Personally, I'm keeping my eye on the predator because I may want to buy one someday. I'm pleased to see that Polaris has jumped into the sport quad arena and this nothing but good for everybody.

Every quad that comes out has problems. The Raptor, DS-650, 400ex, Z/KFX 400 all had some issues. For the most part these were corrected in the following model years. The only way people know abou these problems is to talk about them on the forums and share the knowledge. That being said, if somebody states FACTUALLY and FIRST-HAND a problem they had then there is nothing wrong with that. I take issue when people take personal offense when an issue is discussed - as if somebody were insulting them personally.

I also took offesse at dragomni's remarks about the Basnhee. Dragomni was trying to put down the Banshee becasue he didn't like what Roostking pointed out. Roostking wasn't bashing anybody or Polaris. I agree with RoostKing - it is strange that after all the Polaris testing and running these quads all over the country that certain problems still made it into production.

This is a discussion forum and people are entitled to their opinions whether or not others like them. It's childish and immature (dragomni) to get upset then put somebody down because you don't like their opinion about a quad or a company.

First time on hope this is the right place to ask question. Got 2 tld predators I have had some small problems like others I have been reading about (Loose hose clamp loose axil nut and lost axil bearings some other loose bolts) Not a problem Polaris has already sent me new bearings and seals free. I expexted some problems with the predator, I had minor problems like this with my 400ex's No difrent than any new product. Just wondering if any other troy lee stickers were cheep like mine? Mine skuff real easy and come off when I wash it. I use a presher washer but it is the same washer I use on all my Quads. I looked at the gray predators and there stikers seam alot stronger like the ones on my sportsman. As far as the ride, I like It have had them sence end of Nov. Much faster than the 400ex (given) real even with built r and built 440ex GREAT in the woods

I am not real impressed with the way my decals stick either, and mine is gray, not the TLD. But, those pesky warning decals weren't hard to get off and they didn't leave an indention in the plastic the way other manufactures are making theirs. Thanks Polaris!

I found the banjo bolt on the oil line, right side of the engine, slightly loose and leaked when I first got it home. Throttle cable was misadjusted, the engine idle speed was from the cable, not the stop. Hmmmmm, guess thats it.

Name calling and profanity is also childish (WyoDuner). Now I understand though, it is ok for others to put down things and be "childish".

hmmm, inconsistency there?
