Question that has been bugging me.

Why do people take a sweet looking quad and cut the front fenders off it? Is it for better view when cutting tight corners or something?
When my brother first saw my Predator he said "Well atleast the fenders will keep your hands clean. ROFL!!

An article in one of the many ATV magz some months ago did some testing
on a rapter. They found that by cutting the front fenders back that the top
speed increased by 3-4 mph.
Some people just want all the advantages that they can get!

I thought cross country racers and even MX racers would cut them off to keep mud from getting packed in the under side. You all know how much this mud can weigh. I've seen it get so heavy that it would crack or break the fenders while going over jumps and hard lumps.
Besides that, it just looks cooler.

I think there are lots of reasons, and agree with what others said.
I am going to shave my EX's fenders off for more visibility.
Also, IMO, I think EX's and 250r's look better with shaved fenders. I like full fenders on most other quads though.
