Default Clutch springs

I have a '93 Trail Boss 250 with stock spring with washers as spacers to make in engauge higher. It has awesom wheelie power but no top-end, what are the stock blue polaris spring rates. I could change it with a stiffer spring and get my top-end back and still have high engaugagement. I'm getting a EPI spring because dennis kirk has them for cheap what color, of what is a good spring rate?

Looks like you'll have to go with the plain spring (#7041021) or the purple (#7041132). Both have close to same shift pressure as the blue/green, but quite a bit more engagement.. The purple will have a few more rpms on top, but neither will affect your top end. Bubba

Sorry, the plain is rated at 77/123 engage and shift rate, and the purple is 83/136.

Sorry, those are OEM Polaris #'s. But now that you know the specs, you should be able to find a close match in another brand. Keep the second # right in that area or it will affect rpms and speed.

I cross referenced and EPI has close to that. I'll either go with orange or red, probably red I don't want too high of engaugement just enough to wheelie. What about secondary? Thanks for advise, I got my new rings in and I'm now running better than ever.

EPI Spring Load

2 1/2 : 1 1/4

Yellow 95 145
White 75 155
Orange 75 140
Red 35 140

The red EPI is the same as a Polaris white and it is a good coice for stock machines engagement is a litle higher and it makes you excelerate faster.Dont know if it will make your wheelie but you will like what it does.
