Default fuel mixture and octane

What are you guys running for fuel mixtures and what brand of oil. I running maxima 927 at 40to1 , But I have been told to stay away from the castor oil unless I plan on redoing the top-end every year anyway. Also what octane are you running with racepipes, trailporting, and 12 to 1 heads. I have been running 100 mixed 50/50 with 91 pump gas as I don't want the hole in the piston and do not want to rely on my poor hearing for the pinging noise but I am also getting tired of the big bucks for fuel if I don't need it. Any comments?

With a 12:1 head, you can be running straight 92 or 93 octane. I would say just mix one gallon of good race fuel with a tank of premium and go with it. When you start going more compression than that you gotta start buying the good stuff. By the way, there is ALOT more power to be found in the portwork on that motor. You need transfer and exhaust work.Bubba
