Well I got a chance to take a Predator for a good ride a few days ago and here are my <U>OPINIONS</U> on the machine.

Power: compared to my Speed it feels a little soft off the bottom & it doesnt feel much faster on the topend, maybe a little...but I dont think it'll be any more than 2 or 3 lengths in front of my Speed. Didnt care for the shifting at all.

Brakes: Average, I've felt alot worse (Raptor) but the Speed seems to have better Front Brakes....maybe due to the weight difference.

Handling: It handles really well although it felt a bit jittery at speeds & the Razr let a little slip on hard ground. But it turns effortlessly & its very stable.

Suspension: Seemed pretty good to me, maybe a bit noisy. But I didnt hit any bigger jumps so I cant really tell.

Comfort: Dont like the seat or the tank junction. I like the Footpegs & the handlebars bend isnt to bad either

Looks: It looks very good, except one again for the tank section.

Well, thats my Opinion. Overall it would be an easy choice over a DS, 400EX, Z400, or Raptor.

 

Kodiak01 you forgot about another easy choice, the Speed.

I read that another guy raced a Pred on his 'dale and was able to take it by about 3 lengths, how have you guys fared in your experiences? Keeping in mind here that a drag between close quads is make or break by the start. A bad start and anyone can lose. I would also think that the Pred is definitely faster than a Z or Rappie, right? The 'dale is where the race gets interesting.

 

Well, I plan to race GNCC in one of the 250-class so that alone rules out the Predator..........plus <u>I</u> feel the Hydro-clutch, TAG Handlebars, Aluminum Frame, EFI, Ohlins, & Holeshots are more than worth the extra 1500 I payed for my Speed....infact when looking at a new quad the Predator was the other quad I was looking at, but U]I</u> feel that the Speed is a better machine for <u>my</u> riding style. Also the Speed is a overall smaller quad, which I like

Now back to the topic. The Predator is probably the best all-around sport quad they make right now. Its just that the Speed suits my needs better. Infact their is no reason the Predator shouldnt have won the ATV Action shootout other than the fact its not made by Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, or Yamaha. The magazines have done it many times to Cannondale also, like when ATV Action did the Cannibal vs. Z400 shootout......
