A couple months ago I went riding with a bunch of friends. Needless to say it was pretty cold and I didn't want to get wet and freeze to death. So, when I went throgh water that came above my floorboards, I put my feet up on the front plastic fenders. I got home after that weekend of riding and sprayed off the mud on my Sportsman 700. Once it dried in the garage, I noticed where I had put my feet while going through water, the black color was fading off the plastic. It doesn't look too bad, but still. And it may get worse. Swing by your local Walmart (or boat dealer), and get some 3M marine vinyl protectant. Wipe it on, let it "flow out" and touche', shiny, UV protected quad plastic.

It's probably more of a scuff than fade. Wipe da stuff on, let it sit 15-30 mins. I wipe mine down after each washing. The metallic black on the race mod has been around the block quite a few times, and she still can shine.
