The Predator is a complete balanced package, suspension, styling, and yes, the engine.....don't see how one weighs more important than the other. Without the great advances in the steering/suspension, the engine means nothing. Without the styling, and other appearance designs, they could've just stuffed the engine in the Scrambler frame. Stop sounding like a Dirty Wheels editor, and give 'em credit. All of us riding around on Predators with jumbo grins kinda means they hit a grand slam!!!!

Now depending on driver my little ole srambler will take a Ds.
I drove one and wasn't impressed. Which now take it different strokes for
different folks.

Ahem. Case in point, the Honda 400ex. It has all the things you list, but lacks seriously in the engine department compared to the competition. I am speaking stock of course, I know that it can be made to run much better. Anyway, with a powerplant that could truly compete with todays HiPo 4 stroke sport quads, it would be an entirely different animal altogether. A quad can only be so good without a strong powerplant. The raptors and ds 650's are not the best handling quads on the market, but their abundant power makes up for this lack. The cannondales are very very similar in geometry to the 400ex, as is the ltz/kfx 400 line. It all goes to show, that motor makes the difference between a good quad, and the King.

I am also aware that the honda lacks reverse, liquid cooling, and some other small features. I know that the 400ex engine is produced by briggs and stratton as well.

 

Btw, I am not trying to knock the predator in any way. from what i have heard, it is a very capable vehicle. I have never even sat on one so i cannot make physical comparisons. I am simply debating the issue of the engine. if you check my earlier post in this thread you will see this. And congrats on your new ride, you mustve signed up early to get one of the troy lee ones.
