Marine gear lube ??
#1
Has anybody used "Marine" gear lube in front/rear diffs ?
I am itching to get boat ready for summer and thought marine 80/90 wt may be beneficial in an ATV gear case in case some water gets in. The marine lube is designed to mix with small amount of water in lower unit and it is 80/90 wt lube.
Sure, the lube needs to be drained if ANY water gets in, but the marine lube may prevent some damage compared to regular lube.

Sue I never thought of that, I also have some marine 80/90 in my basement (Good Quality stuff) and I was planning to use a good 80/90 but after reading your post I think I will try Shell Nautilus 80/90 lower unit oil.

Hi Sue
I use the so called Marine lube in my front and rear gears, and in fact it is also synthetic, works great with no problems and you can buy larger size bottles and save $$ in the long run.
