maintenance ?
I have an '03 SP 700 and am due for the 20 hour service. The dealer I bought it from wants $210 labor plus parts. By trade I am a Mercedes Tech and don't see the service being that big of a deal besides the fact that I don't trust anyone to work on my machine after seeing the way things were taken on my coolant leak(3 f@#$n weeks). My service manual has been on order with them for 4 weeks and they still can't tell me when it will be delivered. My question is should I wait for the manual to show up or should I let the stealer do my first service.

maintenance ?
I will say out front there is probably no one cheaper than me, but when I bought new Harleys I always let the "stealer " do the first servicing because they would check things (they said) over and above changing fluids. After that my bikes never saw the inside of a dealers shop, so what I am saying is if I bought a new bike the dealer would take me for the first servicing. I know that the profit margin is probably not very high on four wheelers so they plan to make money on service.
