Simple Questions for RCR owners???
#1
Im on the road for work right now but when I get home there should be a brand new RCR lowend kit waiting for me. My main concern is how hard is it to install and do I have to take the clutch out to put in the new spring, the rest doesnt sound all that hard.

It's easy to install.
All you have to do is take off the PVT cover. Remove the 6(i think it's 6) bolts and the one in the center of the pulley.
Pull out the old spring, stick the new one in and put it back together.
Easy as that.

Hey 97Trailblazer. What exactly did the RCR low end kit do for your ride? I suppose it added to the low end torque and acceleration? I am thinking of adding a kit to my Scram400 but not sure which one. I am looking for more torque to crawl over obstacles and ease through mud, better acceleration and no loss in top speed. Sound possible?

I'm wondering the smae thing. I've desidded to get the RCR kit, but I don't know if the low or mid would be better. I've been reading all the posts on RCR for the last 4 months. I have yet to see a 400 with a low end pipe. everyone has mid or high range. Anyone with any insight, please let us know.

First, No you do not have to remove the clutch, just the PVT cover and then the outer clutch cover(6 bolts), and clutch retaining bolt. Torque the clutch ret. bolt to 40 ft./lbs. and the clutch cover bolts to 14 ft./lbs. The rest of the installation is relatively simple, the hardest part is getting the plastic off, and even that isn't hard only awkward. The only thing I had to do was recess the pipe a little above where there is a plug/jack connector on my transmission. This was only to avoid possible melting/distortion of the connector. The other recommendation I would have is buy a roll of aluminum tape and put an additional 2 or 3 layers inside the black cover that goes over the pipe. It greatly reduces heat to your leg and melting of the cover.
Next, do not waste your time or money on a low end kit on a sport machine. The mid-range kit does not rob any noticeable low end power, and the punch overall is awesome. The low end kit may work on utility machines such as the Explorer models. The Scrambler/Sport are not made for crawling through mud holes, rather blasting through them...and this they do quite well. I do a lot (read many patches in my tires) of steep very rocky trails with my Scrambler, and in AWD, it goes up no problem. Even in 2wd, it will go, just a little bouncier and more plugs.

Sorry Mdelby I forgot to say that I have a Trailblazer and there are only 2 options "low to mid" and "mid to high" for my bike and Ritter said for trail riding this is what I want, thanks for the info though I appreciate all the feedback I can get.

The RCR kit give my Trailblazer tons more lowend power. You can wheelie it like nothing! If you nail it the front end will keep coming up till you flip over.
The acceleration is a lot better, and i would say i've gained 5 mph on the topend. I would show you my orginal post about it. But for some reason it is gone.
