I have an early 02, mine makes the same noises. I had the water pump leak when it was new, it was repaired but I don't think they had the new fix @ that time I think the rattle noise has got something to do with the water pump and it seems to have lost a little power. It only does it after it warm up. I have looked every where on it and can't find any loose parts or leaks but it does sound like it's coming from the right side. It's making me nuts! Finally someone else who has the same problem. Mine starts making the noise after its warmed up also. I don't care if it makes the noise as long as it keeps running good for a long long time.
