Default Is the squeaking normal?

I have a '03 sp 400 it has 100 miles and 20 hours on it. The front end squeaks like an old rocking chair when articulating the front suspension or turning the handlebars. I can't find a grease fitting on the stearing arm pivot point but that is where the noise seems to be coming from. I have read the Polaris removed most of the grease fittings in favor or "permanetly" sealed joints. Any ideas?

Could be your springs. Mine squeak too. I just spray some Tri-Flow near the bottom of the springs and it helps. Also could be ball joints if you took that thing through a lot of water and mud. I doubt it though because it's so new.

The squeking is coming from the top of your springs. There is a lower and an upper pivot ball and the squeaking is most likely coming from the lower one. Spraying wd-40 or something like that will temporarily stop it, but it will return. Mine has 3,000 miles on it and started doing it when it was almost new. I've tried several things to stop it and finally found one that works. I cut out pieces of plastic milk jug and placed between the lower pivot ***** and the shock tower. The squeak has been gone for a few hundred miles now. It's easy to do and basically free.

I don't have any pictures of what I did, but I think I can explain it pretty clearly using the diagram attached to the link below. All I had to do was remove the top nut from the strut (27), which will allow you to remove 26,25, & 24. I then jacked up the front end just high enough to remove the lower pivot ball (19). You only need to jack it up enough to slide the lower pivot ball up and over number 21. I then cut out a piece of round plastic (from the milk jug) just a little larger than the diameter of the pivot ball and then cut a round hole in the middle of the plastic so that the plastic will slide down over number 21. Now the plastic will be between the lower pivot ball and the shock tower. The shock tower is in the left part of the diagram between the numerals 24 & 22. I sure hope this helps out. The link was running slowly, but it would open, so you may need to give it a few seconds.
