Default Predator rear shock adjustment

How do you know where you are on the adjustment on the bottom of the rear shock, just by remembering? I know there are 20 adjustments, but how do you know where you are? I know it comes from factory set at 10, but is there a way to know where 1 and 20 are, and what if you go one click from 1 to 20, as in backwards, does that damage the shock, cause it doesn't seem to stop turning. Thanks a bunch!

Good question ProX. I just counted the clicks, and made sure the rebound was speeding up. Maybe when the service manuals become available, or a local tech might be able to answer that.

The bottom of the rear shock is only effective for 15 clicks from fully closed.
Stock is set at 10 from fully closed
By turning the clicker counter clockwise until it stops is fully closed.

Rebound Damping-
Softest 15 clicks from closed
Factory 10 clicks from closed
Firmest 3 clicks from closed

This is from the service manual, I do realize the normal Pred manual say's there is 20 clicks though.

The manual says 20 clicks from closed is the softest setting, not 15. Does the service manual say 15 clicks?

Just doubled checked again and the service maunal say's in a "graph" and in a "NOTE: The clicker drum is effective for 15 clicks from fully closed".

15 softest from closed
3 firmest from closed

I'm just not getting it. If I want faster recoil (like for going through whoops) do I turn the rear adjustment **** counter clockwise about 20 clicks, or do I turn it clockwise?

If you push down on the back end of the Pred, I want the suspension to return to its upright position faster, not sag there and slowly return. ( I think I'm saying that right.....)

Thanks!!!
