Predator rear shock adjustment

The bottom of the rear shock is only effective for 15 clicks from fully closed.
Stock is set at 10 from fully closed
By turning the clicker counter clockwise until it stops is fully closed.
Rebound Damping-
Softest 15 clicks from closed
Factory 10 clicks from closed
Firmest 3 clicks from closed
This is from the service manual, I do realize the normal Pred manual say's there is 20 clicks though.

Hey Guys, I dug this up with Search and needs some more help with my rear shock. My Pred sits pretty low when I first got it. the metal bar that slides in is only showing about 2 inches. When I push down, it hardly comes back up. When I sit on it, the rear shock is almost compressed. I have the compression set to 4. Also, I turned that red ring on the bottom of the shock counter clockwise and it felt like it was getting way to loose, so I turned it the other way until it stopped. I assumed it was fully closed, but the dang thing still doesn't come back up. Please help me, my suspension is so horrible right now.
regards,
DK

The adjustment you need to do is too tighten the preload on the rear spring. This will make the bike rise higher and make it stiffer. The best advice that i found on setting up the shocks is on this website... Atv on_line shock adjustments
Hope that helps

I find the rebound on the predator rear shock was most comfortable around 7-8 clicks from fully closed. The best way to do it ProX, is to turn the **** to the right until it won't turn anymore (as you are standing behind the machine). When you can't turn anymore, this is fully closed and also the firmest/slowest rebound setting. Now, turn it back to the left and count 15 clicks. Now the fun part, go ride. Ideally, you want as much rebound as possible without the rear end kicking you over small bumps and whoops. Find a small stutter section or some roundte off whoops. Now you just keep turning the rebound back to the right 1 click at a time until the rear end stops kicking. Make sure you are riding at your normal paces, as this will provide the best results. As for pre-load, if you make the spring tension stiffer, the rear will not squat as much and in result it will feel like you have a top-heavy quad and will want to tip in corners, pre-load is never the cure for rebound. Note: Rebound does most of it's control through small whoops and stutter sections, it controls how fast the shock returns to normal height after it compresses, if too fast, it will buck you, if too slow, the rear end will swap back and forth and try to come around you. Have patience and you will have a smooth riding quad!
