03 SP 700

I have also read about this on various forums. It seems that when the front diff is really cold (below freezing temps) it can happen. After the quad has been used and the oil has warmed up, the problem seems to dissapeer. I have also heard of poorly informed people/mechanics who have used differential oil in the front differential. That does kinda make sense, dos'nt it? Sorry, but since the hilliard clutch is now part of the front diff on the 600/700, it requires that Polaris hub fluid or ATF be used (ATF runs like water wereas Diff fluid runs like honey) and not 90 weight diff fluid. This will also cause the same problem.

Ask what type of fluid your dealer is using. Some of the mechanics are quite ignorant and have been using diff fluid for many years in all the polaris machines. Personally I have never had this problem but then again I am in 4x4 99.9% of the time so I will never see it.
