Put a 13-tooth sprocket on the Pred today, the same one for the Honda XR650L that was posted. Install was easy, and I have to say I really like the gearing now. It puts the powerband right where I want it for MX, and Im guessing that with paddles in the dunes I will appreciate it too. The only thing is I noticed that the chain rattle that was there before is even louder now at times. Anybody else notice this, or do I just need to readjust the chain and try again? Mine did the same thing after, but it was because I didn't tighten the chain enough. After I tighten the chain the way the manual said, most of the noise was gone.

I don't own one, but didn't I read somewhere that the sprocket was NOT a direct fit and needed to be machined or shimmed?

 

no that was the XR650R
this sprocket is almost .200 thousandths THICKER.

Thanks guys, after riding this weekend it seems like a lot of the noise went away on its own. Either that or I just got used to it. I am going to re-adjust the chain anyways, just to see what happens. I think I actually have it a bit too tight right now.
