Besides the 500 2x4, does anyone know more than the magazines about the REAL high performance machine they are coming out with to compete with the DS 650?

I talked to my dealer when the big thread got started a few weeks back and he told me that the Polaris Rep. said that there was a prototype 700cc twin, but he said that this was not the final revision and there was no production date set.

I think that the dealer said that the motor came from a snowmobile and that it was a 2 stroke.

I heard today that Polaris was working on a full sport machine. My source said that they are testing with a 440 snowmobile engine in some sort of modified 250r style race chassis.

He also said that they were building a new sportsman with a 750 twin, but not to expect to see either for the 2001 model year.

440 sounds good in that kind of chassis. We can only hope and dream!!!
