Split brake system
On the 400l quads has anyone put a split brake system on and how did it work? RCR no longer carries them but HPD has a kit - anyone using this kit? For my xplorer does anyone know if there is another polaris model that i could get the steel braided master cylinder line from? I currently have the front steel braided line off a mag. and they made a big difference. thanks for your help.

hello
you dont need a kit . you can buy the front brake lever off a polaris 6x6 for the right side and get the rest from an auto parts store. go to www.partsland.com and you can look up the part # for the lever .

Hunt,
You can order a master cylinder, with lever and all the extras for about $60 from www.servicehonda.com. It is the master cylinder off of a 400ex. That is cheaper than anywhere else, and I read in one of the rag mags that the 400ex master cylinder produced the most bang for the buck as far as performance goes. I have one on my xplorer. I might even have a pic of it installed. Since I have rear tines on my xplorer, I only have front brakes. It is convenient for me with kids to be able to gas and brake with my right hand and hold onto them with the other. I will email you the photo of the m/c just in case it isn't on my photos page.
