Does anyone have a tach hooked up to a 99 scrambler 500 4x4? If so, what tach did you use and how did you wire it in?

 

I just put a Tiny Tach digital tachometer on my 650 and it works really good. It will work on your Scrambler too. Tiny Tach link. Polaris carries a Tiny Tach with the Polaris name on it. Extremely easy to install.

Do you mean Tachometer?Please see my photos on my profile I drive scrambler 500 4x4 1999 and it is the firs scrambler with Digital tahcho meter and Torch light plus Dashboard but I cant show you my Scrambler cause I m in Switzerland,my good Friend there in States names Bob helped me to make this accurate digi tacho better you ask Bob from"Cycle Buy" about this product .the tacho is accurate,thats real.

What are you calling "torch light"?

 

The Torch Light that he is referring to is what Trail Tech calls the lights that are mounted to the Trailtech computer mount. The little round lights on the sides of the speedo.

 

Westach makes an analoge tach that works with the 6 pulse Polaris 4 strokes. Around &80 I believe. Email them for more info.

 

Like Bigbad stated, the Westach is a nice unit. HPD also used to sell a VDO analogue tack, I've ran mine through everything the last couple of years, and it never missed a beat. Due to VDO not offering a water/weather proof version of this anymore, I don't think HPD is carrying it. A person could open things up and install some o-ring weatherproofing. Hot Seat sells some accurate digital units also.

I am not sure how the others hook up, but the Tiny Tach just hooks up to your spark plug wire and also go to a ground, I believe. The others probably require splicing into some other wiring

 

The one I had came from RCR.If I recall it hooked up in the lighting circut.Yellow w/red stripe & yellow under the hood by the voltage reg.
