Dwyer!
The 162.5 jet is the proper jet. Your owners manual and even the early edition service manuals call for the 155 main jet. (Your dealer probably has the early edition as my dealer did). The later edition service manuals specify the 162.5 jet. I use the 165 main in mine year round and it runs a lot better than when I had the 162.5 in it. The only change I make is I use the K&N air filter in the warmer months and switch back to the stock air filter in the colder months as they tend to run leaner in the colder months. The manual actually calls for the 167.5 in the colder months at my altitude. You don't say where your from so I don't know what altitude your at. Your dealer is probably on the right track as you can have a backfire condition when running lean. Here are the jetting specs. from the newer service manuals.
( 0 - 6000 feet ) Below 40 Degrees F. = 167.5 main jet
( 0 - 6000 feet ) + 40 Degrees and above = 162.5 main jet
( Above 6000 feet ) Below 40 Degrees F. = 160 main jet
( Above 6000 feet ) + 40 Degrees F and above = 155 main jet
I didn't mean for this post to be so long and I hope I'm not confusing you too much. Tell your dealer to get the later edition service manual as their are a couple of changes from the early editions, or better yet, print this post and give it to him.

Well--Polaris does suck--and the Honda trans. is the most advanced to date bud-so just calm down-and treat yourself to a trip to your local Honda dealer-you'll feel much better... -and the Rincon will smoke the Sportswoman 700 in a drag race-on the track- anything you name it son- the Polarass doesn't have a chance against the Rincon- Honda is still number one for your information... have a nice day

It's actually kind of entertaining when a jerk brain like this shows up on the forum. It is obvious he has never been closer to any atv than looking at the pictures in the atv magazines on the shelf at Walmart.
