Default Ramsey winch

Is anybody using or had any expierences with one of the 3000lb models with the wireless remote? I am planning on getting either that or a Warn 3.0 ci. Will the Ramsey models fit in the center of the headlights for a Sp. 700? Thanks

I don't know about the Ramsey, but I put a Warn 3.0 on my 03 700. It won't go all the way up inside the opening between the headlights like the 2.5 or 2000. I made a mount for mine, it fits part of the way in the opening. I made a "L" shaped plate and used the 4 bumper bolts and mounted the winch horizontally instead of vertically like the Polaris mount for the 2.5 or 2000. I also have the Polaris brushguard, the roller fairlead sticks out just barely past the front of the brushguard. One other thing, the mounting bolts for the 3.0 are in the center and not on one side like the 2.5 or 2000.

The wireless remote sounds interesting, but I've had terrible experiences with Ramsey winches. My new company truck came with a new 8000lb Ramsey, and I can't wait to get rid of it. The freewheel has never worked, the winch has leaked oil since day 1, and the remote control broke. I've abused Warn winches for many years and never had a problem. When you're sunk out of sight far from help, you'll want a winch that works.
