A friend i ride with is a service guy at the local Polaris dealer He cut a piece of plastic from a black pail the same width as the exhaust duct formed it into a semi circle and rivoted it to the duct work.. The piece blocks water from splashing into the pvt but lets it breath fine so far he hasnt gotten it wet.. My son rides a 96 400 Sport he can submarine that with no trouble at all My 00 500 sc has gotten wet a couple of times but I have 4wd and think that is the problem the front tires throw water into the pvt
