Just wondering if anyone was using the Polaris tach. I know that digitals aren't as fast reading as the mechinical ones, but I wanted to know what the rpm was when I was wfo down the river.

 

One of the guys i ride with has the Polaris tach on a SP700, it is much faster at reading RPM than my TINY TACh is. but either one will give you a reference.

 

HPD used to sell a VDO unit. I have a couple of them that have been through some extreme woods wars. Nice and compact. You could also try EGT's, Exhaust Gas Technologies, they have some nice units that allow you to add on a couple of temp readings also.

 

I already ordered one from Polaris, just wondering if anyone else had one. Also, wonderin how long the battery lasts in the unit, and how do you replace it? Seems like a full sealed unit. Thanks again!

 

I had a tiny tach in my Challenger ultralight, I think they are one in the same units. Give RPM and hour on the engine. Mine was still going after two years. It was a sealed unit and needed to be replace when the battery discharged.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
