Predator Carb
#1
I purchased the Dynojet kit for my Predator. I was looking at the carb and was wondering how do you get the 2 cables that are connected off? Also is there anything that I need to know before trying to do the job myself? I have rejetted carbs before but none like this beast. Is there anywhere that I can find out any info on this carb? I downloaded the service manuel from Polaris.com but the pic of the carb doesn't look quite right. I have heard people talking about drilling the air mix screw......is this something that could be tricky? I don't want to mess the carb up but I would like to know how to do it myself. THANK YOU!!!!!!

The choke I think you can just unscrew it from the carb body, the throttle is on the right under the side plate, you may have to loosen up the cable adjuster(by the bars) to give more cable slack to unhook the cable from the throttle cam. Check the float level while your at it.

If you go to "Ask Jeeves" and search for Mikuni Constant Velocity Carburetors you can dig up some info on these things. You will find that they are difficult to tune when you get into modifying from the stock set up and to me unless you want to wait for someone else to go through the headaches of finding out what works for a particular set up it would be better to just replace it with a non cv type. That is my plan after the warranty is up and if your looking for substantial gains in power you'll have to get inside the motor. I'm not jumping on the jet kits and airbox mods that are popping up recently, wait for the real stuff to show up and then spend your money. We need pistons, cams, a higher rev limit cdi and the carb to get started and really make them fly.....
