Scrambler upgrades
I am thinking about upgrading the exhaust, air filter, and I would imagine the jetting on my 2001 Scrambler 4x4. Was leaning toward the White Bros. E series and K & N filter (of course). Any other suggestions for a pipe? I'm trying to keep the cost under $250 for the exhaust so I know my choices are limited. Also, what size jet will I need? Thanks.

i got my white bros pipe for $200 its a real good pipe i took all the disks out and its loud as crap and i dont think you need to rejet it but mine was cackling when ever i let off the gas so i went with a 160 main jet and it doesnt do it anymore that also helped the power alittle and when i first put it on with the 7 or 8 disks in it it was pretty loud like that. I got my K&N first i could tell a difference with it on it cost $44 and i recently just bought a belt for it mine was alittle ripped in places but now i can do a wheelie at 3000 rpms but i have to lean forward and pull prtty hard on the handlebars i have moose handlebars. I think that with all my mods i can prolly beat a stock scrambler by 3 to 5 bike lengths. My next thing is going to be a HPD clutch kit it will let me wheelie even better see ya hope this helps

I got the HPD Powermaxx pipe and silencer for $305. It came with a 165 main jet. The fit, finish, and quality of the HPD unit was worth the extra money. The other companies are good, but HPD is a step above the rest. You may also want to look at the Supertrapp ISD2 sytem. It is rather inexpensive compared to the others. Also, I would suggest getting a clutch kit. It will give you the most notticable gains by allowing you to get the power to the ground better. Again, I would suggest the HPD Agressive clutch kit. If you do get the pipe and clutch kit, it is better to stick with one company. Hope this helps
