Tapping noise in the Front??
I continue to hear a very frustrating "tapping" noise on the front of my Polaris Xpedition 425. It sounds like it could be coming from my front left wheel. I thought it may be a brake pad that was loose but it seems to be tight. It usually make more noise when going over rough terrain but it still can make the noise over flat ground also. I have been dealing with the noise for about a year now and I have pretty much learned to live with it but is there anyone out there who has some experience or advise with this?
The noise wouldn't be "internal" would it (by that I mean inside the hub?). I just can't figure it out! It sounds as if something is loose and it moves back and forth "tapping" against something else.
Any ideas?
Thanks for the help!

You don't have A-Arm skidplates do you. If so, sometime they shift just enough to get hung up when the suspension moves throughout it's travel. I've had it happen to mine. I'd recommend jacking it up really slowly and seeing if you can pinpoint where the sound is coming from. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for the help! The sound occurs when the 4-wheeler is in motion (driving forward), I don't even have to turn the wheel. I know it's something that has come loose but just can't figure out if it is internal or not. I know it has nothing to do with the engine. I don't have any A-Arm guards either.
Thanks everyone for helping. I'll try and take a closer look at this weekend.
