Default ///////AIRFORCE KIT///////

Hi,
I have heard about this new airforce kit and read about it on Gary's website. It sounds great and i really could use that extra torque. My only question is if there is some way to close the modified holes in the airbox from the kit while going through water. Let's face it, not all trails are dry and sometimes puddles are deeper than we think they are. Please respond if you know anything about this. I would hate to ruin my new pred by sucking a bunch of water into the airbox.

Thanks,
Cannon

Duct Tape, but then you might not be getting enough air and it would work like crap. If its a 1.5 feet deep go slow or just stay out of it.

Hell the snorkel is only 28" from ground level, plus the bend in it that if it put up water it would pass to the air box,
air flow right. The airforce kit is (bottom of it 24") from ground level, if you can tell 4" of water. You should be in the NAVY, Hell the SEALS need yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a thought?

I just posted the same thing in another thread, but i'm gonna make a plate to stop splashing water over the a/f kit plate. yes it'll richin it up, but at least you dont have to worry about blasting through 8-10 inches of water.

I have the airforce kit on mine and regulary go through 6-12" of water fast and get as much debris in the sediment bowls as I did stock. I don't go crossing stuff much deeper than 18" anyway. You have to think the rear opening is also filtering that air through your primary air filter too. If you want to get through much deeper water buy a 4x4.
I WOULD NOT cover up any of the extra openings as this kit is a finely tuned package and have you seen the size of that main jet? That thing has to be at least a 170!!! I'd rather be careful than fouling plugs.

Well I do not know a whole lot about this Airforce kit I do have my airbox modded on my Scrammy and what I did for the holes is take and prefilter a water proof one and cut it up the size of the hole and hot glued it over the hole this works well no water will get in if it only submerged for a few seconds but if submerged for a longer period it will start to come in , because the prefilter can only keep it out for a brief bit even though they say it is waterproof
