There were some pretty good updates that the 2000 models didn't get
Brake Update:::::2001 models
The newer model would have all steel braded brake lines and new style reservoir.
Vented Rotors and updated pads
Steering Update::::::Late 01 and 2002 models
Thicker steering shaft and a sealed bearing lower steering shaft support.
CHASSIS::::::::::2003 models
Less Grease Zerks due to Lub for life seals
Other that those items like the others said, Coated exhaust, colored chassis parts, blue plastic, Stickers and jell seat w/stiched cover

I just went to the website. Under the info for the 400 4X4 X is a link that says "click here to learn more about the Polaris Scrambler". When you click that link, it takes you to the 2002 Scrambler info so it must be an '02.
