Recently i purchased a 2003 scrambler. The k&n air filter for it is 40 bucks from the dealer. I work at Summit Racing Equipment and I can get a k&n universal filter that will fit it which is only 15 bucks. But the only catch is the universial filter is 5 inches long and the one made for the bike is 7 inches long. Do you think that with it being shorter it will affect the air flow? Should i just buy the one made for my bike or get the universal one? Thank you for you help.

Its neither its a perfect cylinder. It has about the same diameter as a can of soda.
