Pipe for Predator
#12
14MINS, what type of tires are you using on your test Predator. I know that may sound crazy to some people, but it makes a difference. Your peak number sounds about the same as most people are getting. I hope the pipe makes some good numbers, so far nothing we have tested has made any real gains over the White Bros pipe. give us some hp vs rpm numbers, I know the White Bros pipe made some good low end improvements ( as your testing showed it really needed it). but with jetting and airbox mods we still only got a 2 to 3 peak hp gain, but was able to get 7 to 8 hp at low to mid range where the predator really needs it. I think it's great that you are testing the Predator. We need help to run with those Craycraft 686 Raptors And I have seen the Trinity pipe test, i put no merit into anything Trinity puts out, there numbers are inflated and are just a marketing tool.

aussie- we are at 800 feet. The temps are ranging from 65-80 degreees. The way we are doing the test takes lots of time. We try to run all the machines at the same temps over a 2 day period even thought the dyno corrects for that. We are running the manufactues recomended fuel for each machine. Some are harder to do because of the end caps on the fuel/air
LTZ- we are rwrapping up a z-400 tonight. The numbers go to mbrp first. At this point we have a few hundred dyno runs printed out. We have to sort thru all of it. We may even have to re-run some if something looks wrong.
SP700- We are using a pair of 18 inch hoosiers slicks. Like i said the predator was SUPPOSE to be a stock machine with just the white pipe on it. We have to return it to stock to get a baseline and start over.
I have some more riding time on the predator although it is not my machine of choice i do like the way it keeps the front in on the ground during cornering. It is a good deal wider in the rear than a stock rappy.
Just a little info- a stock 03 raptor with 25 hours dynoed at 35.7hp, the predator dynoed 39.6 with a stock pipe ALTHOUGH we did not realise that it had a k@n air filter in it. We need to return it to stock and see again. It looks like a predator will dyno higher than a raptor. The raptor really wakes up with a exhaust/jet kit and a k@n filter.
The good juicy info has to go to mbrp before i can spill the beans. I am sorry about that. I will give some info out that should help you guys a little on jetting etc. I do think that the dyno jet dyno is the best of the little dynos out there but i think it gives more real life numbers than the dyno that some others use. I have had my quad on a few different brands and it always reads higher than a dyno jet.
