I would absolutely NOT ever use a Fram filter. You'd be better off with a roll of toilet paper stuck up there! This has been discussed at length on motorcycle forums and they are JUNK! I will see if I can find the link to the filter tests that I read. Please, Please, if you value your motors do not use Fram filters!!!!
Oh, by the way, I used to use them all the time until I got my street bike and found this info on a Honda forum. I'm not making this up.

I got an idea buy the polaris filter and not worry if it is good enough or if it fits or what not....for 10 dollars i think it is worth just knowing you have the best filter on it and if there is a problem then its Polaris' problem....well you can put on a AC or a Fram but if you ever have a problem with your machine I belive you just voided your warrenty! But yes the oil filters are too expensive but they say Polaris on them so that is why. You did spend 6500 dollars on a new machine so 10 more dont make a difference thats what i have always done on all the machines i've owned and snowmobiles.

I use Fram 6607 from Wal-Mart at only $5. I get this filter because it is cheaper than Polaris, just as good, and easier to get. Don't listen to all this 'Fram is junk' from people who only assume, or have heard stories. Same thing as Honda guys saying Polaris is junk. My Ford truck has run 180,000 miles on nothing but Fram and Pennzoil. Just as good as the rest and priced lower. I don't know about the rest of you, but paying more doesn't make me feel too good.
