Just changed the oil
#11
I'm glad I don't have to change oil and filters, I just add it.. I am not trying to say anything is better than the other, just trying to provide links and options for everyone to make their own choice.

for the one or two oil changes i do per year on my ATV, i'll use the Polaris brand.
i'm with Polarisman3 on this one.....for the $7K spent on an ATV, what's an extra few bucks to get the correct filter?

There is a big difference in filters used on cars and trucks and those used on recreational vehicles. Having to do with the (usually) much higher pressures seen at high rpm on small engines and the interaction between this pressure and the bypass valve in the filter (also the construction of the filter). An extra $5 should not be the deciding factor in protecting a $6000 toy. Here's another interesting link.

Amsoil has a filter for the SP that lists for $8.75, you can get it for less by becoming a dealer, a prefered customer or just by being on friendly terms with someone who is one or the other.
