CV Joint Boot Replacement
#11
When you get the boot slid off, wipe off the grease real good. You will be able to see (barely) a little snap ring in a recess of the CV joint, where the driveshaft goes into the joint. Pry the ends of this snap ring APART, and you will be able to pull the axle out of the joint. With the axle out, you can replace the boot, leaving it slid back on the axle a ways. Re-install the axle into the joint, being sure the snap ring catches the groove in the axle, with the tabs of the snap ring leaning out towards the shaft. The shaft SHOULD be tapered well enough for the end to go through the snap ring without prying it apart upon re-installation. Now grease everything up, slide the boot into place, and tighten the clamps.
That should be the only tricky part. Dis-assembly and re-assembly of the A-arms and such should be pretty straightforward.

Well I got 'er fixed before work yestrday. Thanks for all of the help. Farmr, your instructions were right on the money, thanks. You guys saved me a decent chunk of change. Just got back from a little muddin' with one of my buddies, with his new Arctic Cat. Everything seemed to work fine on mine. Nice to have it fixed, finally. Thanks again.
