Inline super cooler
#1
I have seen these before. They claim to drop the temp by 5-10 degrees. Does anyone run one? I was thinking of makeing one from some aluminum on the lathe. If I run 2 coolers, one from the intake line and one on the return line, will it double the the cooling capacity?

I have one, but I don't have a water temp gauge so I can't tell you how good it works. The one I've got says just to put it on the return hose.. so I can't answer that question either. My fan very rarely comes on, and I've never had an overheat problem.

I figure I got extra time at school and we just got some aluminum stock donated. Why not??? I one of those guys that if I can, I would like to make it rather than buy it I gives my quad a personal touch Do you think it would be worth running 2? Could you give me an idea of how it looks. Is it just a hollow cyclinder with large fins?

The best place to put one is on the hose leaving the engine. Reason for this is that a higher heat transfer will take place when there is a higher temperature differential. There would be more benefit in making one long one than to make 2 and put one downstream of the radiator.
