I bought a little black box that fits around the chain and houses a set of brushes attached to a small sprocket inside. The thing works great. You fill it with the cleanser and roll it over the chain (still on bike). makes the chain like new.

Keep a hawks eye on a used master link,,,,,,they are much more likely to fail.

 

most of the time the new master link that gets purchased is made by a different manufacturer than the chain,,,,so there are some variances. Be sure that the binding loosens up as NCscrambler points out. If it doesnt over time, replace it.

Pulling the front chain is no picnic!

I'll keep a eye on the master link-it doesn't look like it want's to wander off the sprocket, it just retains it's bend when it comes off the sprocket,and throughout it's travel....

I used some Bell Ray lube for o-ring chains--not as tacky as the PJ-1

 

Here is one of those boxes that Bing is referring to. Yes they work great. You can find them alot through different mail order companies, just make sure it is for 520 chain.

Oops, I linked you striaght to it I thought, but it didn't work. Hmm. Go to the link and where it says search for keyword, put in chain scrubber and It will take you straight to it. Sorry bout that.

Click on that. If you are not getting that, you are doing something wrong, make you sure you are typing it in the Keyword search and not part# search. I got mine at rocky mountain atv where NC pointed out. Well worth the $$

 

Bing, where did you put it? Was it on the scrambler? How long does the cleanser last? Will it also wash off the chain lube?
