Other than drilling the core, then grinding the head... Is there a better way to remove rivets...cuz its a PITA. And can anyone give me a good guess as to what kind of welds are on the floor boards...i mean the support bracket underneath. Looks like Tig welds but not sure.

Anyone that could help me and scramblered6910 with this would be great. Drilling out those rivets on my floorboards to get to my footpegs is annoying!!

When I removed the rivits on my ball joints on my blazer, I used an air chizel. Did some damage to the ball joint but I was replacing it anyway. The only other way that I know of is to drill it out.

An air chizel would be fine. We are not worried about damage to the floor boards since we are removing them any ways. Thats kinda like a smaller version of a jack hammer right? I have just the thing in mind

Yeah, it is like a mini hand held jack hammer... loud and mean An air chizel makes quick work of removing the head. Then you can try and drive the rest of the rivet out with a punch or you can drill it out, now that you have a flat surface to drill on.

if you dont wreck the floorboards too badly, you could probably sell them on ebay. and make some money for upgrades. not sure how much they might go for, just a thought.
