air fiters

Are the K&N filters that mount on the carb better than the unifilters that go inside the air box? Also, I remember a comment about wide open throttle and flipping on the choke. They said if you flip the choke and it speeds up it was probably running lean, and if it cuts out it's rich. What if nothing happens? Just wondering because I tried it on mine and didn't notice a difference.

Read you sparkplug. Black is rich, white is lean, cocoa brown is perfect. Stablilize the throttle setting for 1/4 mile, then cut the ignition with the switch on your handlebar. Coast down, and read plug. Repeat for 1/4 throttle, 1/2, 3/4 and wide open. Starting at the lower speeds first.

yeah, you can put it in neutral speed up the engine to rev faster and give some little choke shot,if motor drop rpm radically, then if JUST tell it is rich, but whenever you run,it is best when you test it while it is running at full operating temp,if nothing happen then just choke it til the rpm's drop, this will again just mean you're lean.
the k&n filtercharger fit well in the pwk,on the mikuni too, just screw it in around the strap and go,remember to place a pre-filter wear,or it will just last 1 day.
