I am going to be purchasing a hpd trail pipe soon along with the clutch kit. My question is which muffler should i end up getting for it? Noise really doesn't matter where i ride so i just want one with the best power. How does the fmf turbine coreII compare to the hpd units?

 

I'm going throught the same thing right now. Noise doesn't matter where I ride, but I don't like it to loud it just makes the hairs on your neck stand up after listening to it for awhile. I want the MSA or MTQ silencer??? who has one or those or does anyone have the other two and how loud are they?

 

Check out my post "Scrambler 400 Muffler". I've had the best results with the HPD pipe and stock Polaris muffler.

 

Other than weight and looks the Polaris silencer is a good unit.

I am running a HPD trail pipe, airbox mod kit w/ filter, clutch kit w/o helix, and re-jetted. I got the kit from Rick Ritter and am completely happy.

Stock silencer surprised me.

 

I also run a stock 400 silencer with my HPD pipe. It sounds great and there really is no power loss. I actually think it pulls harder with the stock silencer. I also have a DG silencer when I go race or trail riding. It is a bit louder but not bad.
