Default oil block off

I was reading a post about using silicone on the block off plate to seal it. Is this a must? Also, the rod that fills in the hole before the cover goes on was rattleing so I took it out and just put the plate on. Does that have to be in the hole. Thanks for any answers.

You're talking about the 250? If so, I believe the plug needs to be in there to maintain the designed volume. Give the post time, someone with one will chime in.

Default oil block off

I have the 400 and I used the wrong kind of sealant and it leaked out everywhere. I got a high temp silicone and actually just got through sealing it up last night. I'm pretty sure that it sealed off this time. I think I talked to a guy name mike at HPD and he said that you have to have a SEALANT to seal it off or it will leak. I don't have the rod that you are referring to but I would leave it in if they tell you to. Hope this helped.
