Default Major trouble with Hpd Scrambler!

I just had my cylinder bored and trail ported, trail mod head, had the stock carb bored to 35.5mm and jetted, all new gaskets, and put in a brand new wiseco piston. I put it back together and broke it in fine. 2 hours later it stalled and now has no compression again, just like before I had this work done. I am extremely disappointed and don't know how this could have happened. Any suggestions??
My wife is telling me to sell it, and right now I'm not too far from using her idea!

Thanks,
Colin

It just quit running and has no compression? Blown head gasket is my guess.

This may seem like a dumb question but did you do jetting tests? Mine had major midrange problems... too lean and I could not do anything about it for soem reason. Most guys on these forums have had great luck and experience and no problems with thier HPD'd machines.

Some of the others will give you some good advise on what to look for. Mine did the same thing and the front of the poston melted thus no more compression.

Like Xplor said...and also did you re-torque your cylinder base gasket after you warmed the machine up good?

no compression or stalled?
if the crank is stalled or any rough wear in the cylinder is bad news...
did ya put oil in the gas tank during the 2 hours of riding?

Sounds alot like a head gasket....but it could be a number of other things too. When you get it fixed, put one of the cool heads in place of the stock head. You wouldn't believe what a difference that will make.

Colin, are you familiar with how to check the jetting? Feel free to PM me.

The trail mod setup requires a rich middle range jetting. I learned the hard way also. Hope it's not too bad.Bubba

Geez NC, give the guy some healing time..hehe. He's learning to cope, sniff. Aw shucks, he bought some nifty new rides, they'll (Dana too) be fine.
