How do you install new ATV grips?
#1
Ok I installed the new Trail Tech setup with the Xbars and ordered a set of Serfas Spider Grips. When I bought them I asked the guy how you install them and he said to put a little Scotts grip glue on the bar and push them on. He was smiling the whole time.
Well I just tried and was only able to get the grips on maybe an inch and a 1/2 and faught to get them back off. I'm not laughing at all cause I'm almost finished and can't do anything!
How the heck to you install new grips on an ATV. Modquad you just recently did the same thing, any suggestions? I do not have an air compressor so that is not an option.

When we do them we make sure the bars are real clean and then put a little glue on each bar (1 side at a time) and then push them on with EXTREME force. I usually have to pound them on the last inch or two with the palm of my hand really hard!!!!

I've always used hair spray on the bar and inside the grips, just have to work pretty
fast before it sets.. if u work fast, it'll slide right on usually without trouble.. make
sure to line them up properly on the bar before walking away .. it'll be the devil
trying to move them after the spray sets...
also, like the previous post said, make sure the bar is clean before installing new
grips..

It can be a pain sometimes, do like the others said and make sure to use the grip glue from the manufacturer of the grips because some companies glues can eat other companies grips because they are made of different materials. Put alot of glue in the grips and on the bar and give at least 8 hours to dry. To remove the old ones it is easiest just to cut them off.

I used WD-40. They went on real easy and haven't moved since I put them on. I simply sprayed the inside of the grip and pushed them on. Once the grip is all the way on continue to twist the grip until it gets tight. Worked great for me!
