Default scrambler 500 h.o. = sportsman 500 h.o. ????

Speedwise I hear the scrambler is only 1 mph faster and won't accelerate any faster. Is this true, anyone drag them for sure?

The scram may be just a FEW mph faster. However, due to the smaller tires, lighter weight, and SAME engine, I would think that it would accelerate faster. Just think of the power to weight ratio. Though I cant say for sure because I have never dragged a sp500. Just my $.02

I have an 01 HO and a friend has an 01 Scrambler 500 4X4. When they were both new, we dragged them and the scrambler is quite alot faster off the line. I have no idea about top end. I logged about 50 miles on the scrambler one day and it is definitely snappier than the sportsman, but for the riding I do, the sportsman is better suited hands down.
