Tires are a bit bigger, front rack, low range and shaft drive doesn't seem like it would add up to 85 lbs more weight. Anything else you guys can think of to make it weigh 85 lbs more?

Wow, you must be very educated. If you can contribute to society like you just did to my post this will be a third world country in no time.

 

The mag is built heavier starting with the frame. All those extra parts add up. It is more of a utility machine to do heavier things where the trail boss is more of, as it says, a trail machine. Totaly different body styles.

 

Heavier frame, dual racks, low range, heavier skid plates are a few reasons that pop into my mind.
Also, shaft drive adds a few pounds, and the machine is 'bigger' overall.

They are just designed different. The TB is more of a runabout or trail riding machine, while the Magnum is stouter because it is designed for work. In fact, except for being slow, the 330 Magnum may very well be better suited for real work than any other machine in its class (under 350ccs)
